2010 Men’s Olympic Hockey – Tournament Format

12 Countries will compete in a “mini-tournament” for the Gold Medal in Vancouver. The format is quite simple, round robin determines top 4 teams who get a bye to the quarters, the remaining 8 are ranked by performance and playoff to see who gets into the quarters against the top 4. Then it goes, quarters, semis, Gold Medal, with the 2 losers of the semi’s playing for bronze. For a comprehensive summary of the schedule, Pools and draws click here.
